About us
I founded Arculus in 2024 after more than twenty years in the police and military, including eight years in a tactical unit. I wanted to do things my own way and bring together men who, like me, had returned to civilian life and whose experience would otherwise go unused.
At the time, I was convinced that professional VIP protection was a gap in the market. When I later did some proper research, I found the gap was not quite as big as I thought. But here in Moravia, it was still there. So here we are.
Who will look after you
There are seven of us today. I built the team from men I served with and people those men vouched for. Together we have more than a hundred years in the Czech Police, sixty of them in tactical units, and ten years in the military. Our instructors hold CLS and TCCC medical certifications and have dozens of shooting competition wins behind them.
You will not find my colleagues’ faces on this website or anywhere else, and that is deliberate. Part of our work is covert protection, which a bodyguard whose photo you can find online cannot provide. The only face you will see here is mine.
Protection work comes in bursts, so none of the team treats it as an eight-to-four office job. They turn up for assignments and training, not to clock hours. I run the company full time. I still go out on assignments too: I enjoy it and have no intention of resting on my laurels.
During one of our first events, I realised that this work can be alarmingly similar to serving in a police patrol unit. Anyone who has done that will know exactly what I mean — and I would rather not explain it to everyone else over a beer.
Why the name Arculus
Arculus was the Roman guardian god of chests and strongboxes: a deity watching over the things people keep locked away and care about. That is exactly how I see our work: no showmanship, just reliable protection for what matters to you.
What we stand for
Confidentiality is absolute. We do not discuss clients, even anonymously, which is why you will not find testimonials here. We turn down assignments that conflict with our values or the law, however lucrative they may be. And we will always tell you honestly what level of security can actually be delivered under your circumstances. We leave it to others to promise everything to everyone.
The company is licensed to protect people and property and to provide firearms instruction and training. We are based in the Zlín Region and work anywhere in the Czech Republic.
Where we are heading
I will not pretend we are a small boutique firm on principle. We are small because we are young, and I would like to grow Arculus substantially. But one thing is non-negotiable: however big we become, we will remain a team where everyone is treated well and people know one another by name, not by personnel number. There are enough impersonal companies in this industry already.
